We Finally Finished the Deck

We finally finished our deck! (At least for now, there are several long-term projects that we still plan to do here like a build a BBQ and paint the rafters and potentially the awning.) After a target date of Sept. 15, 2017, we are finally done. Better late than never.

The Deck Before

As a reminder. Here is where we started. Everything we did last summer with the deck is in this post.

The Deck After

Here’s that same view today.

Deck After

The deck is really split into three zones. The first of which is this area anchored by this awesome outdoor sofa from CB2. When we ordered it last July it was on backorder and kept getting delayed. We learned our lesson there. Don’t order outdoor furniture late in the summer. It finally arrived in late January. (However, the upside of ordering it when we did was that we got a really good deal.)

Opposite from the couch are two Acapulco black chairs, also from CB2. Though they don’t look it, they are so comfortable!

Deck Hanging ChairsThe most popular spot, for sure, in the whole space is are the two hanging chairs from Pier One. Last summer we had them placed all the way against the brick and bringing them up out about 10 feet has made the entire space feel much cozier and cohesive.

Deck Dining Area

The final zone on the deck is, of course, the dining area. The dining table from IKEA was such a great purchase. It really fills the space and was a great price.

Because the deck is so large we added a lot of planters to fill the space this spring/summer. The plants have added a nice pop of color. Because the planter on the dining table is so shaded we filled it with a variety of fake succulents from World Market. I was so happy with how it turned and how real they actually look!

Faux Succulents

And that’s the deck. Before Sydney was born we ate breakfast out here daily. It’s nicer than our dining space in the house. Now we can’t wait to utilize it to have people over more often. We can obviously fit plenty of people. 🙂
